Renee Nicole Good
On Wednesday, January 7th, everything changed in this country. Americans realized any one of us at any time, without provocation, could be shot in the streets by ICE agents.
Renee Nicole Good lost her life at the hands of ICE agents in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was only 36 years old, and she leaves behind a 6‑year‑old child who will now grow up without their mother. For so many of us, that alone is heartbreaking beyond words.
Many people have seen the video of what happened. For those who have watched it, the images are difficult to forget. To many, it looks like an act of violence that should never have occurred. The agents in masks did not appear to be in immediate danger, and the force used has left people across the country shaken, angry, and grieving. There is a deep sense that something profoundly wrong happened on that street.
President Trump spoke publicly about the incident, claiming that the ICE agent involved had been run over and dragged. Many who saw the footage themselves feel that this description does not match what they witnessed. This has only added to the pain and confusion surrounding Renee’s death.
This week, the President referred to the January 6th insurrection as a peaceful protest. For many Americans who witnessed the events live, that description doesn’t match what they saw or went through.
When leaders claim the public didn’t actually see what they clearly witnessed, it’s deeply unsettling. Many see this kind of reality-twisting as a classic sign of authoritarianism—an effort to undermine trust in our own perception, judgment, shared sense of events—and it’s straight out of the fascist playbook.
We know what we saw on January 7, 2026, and we know what we saw on January 6, 2021.
Art has a way of healing wounds, so today I’m adding a touch of healing power.
Americans are grieving, they are outraged, and they are demanding accountability because they believe the truth matters. Renee’s life mattered. Her child’s future matters. And the country we are becoming matters.
What you can do
Call your representatives, join protests, and write letters to the editor - Push back and make your voices heard.
The events of this first week of 2026 are deeply unsettling, but we have the power to create the changes we want to see in this country by making our voices heard—again and again.
Call Baumgartner. He might act like your call isn’t important, but it really is!
Script provided by Jessica Craven: My name is _____ and I’m a constituent from [zip.] I’m horrified by ICE’s shooting of an innocent bystander in Minneapolis today. I’m furious, too, that the Trump administration is lying about what happened. There is clear video evidence showing that the victim was trying to drive away when an ICE agent shot her. It was murder, pure and simple. We can’t go on like this. ICE must be defunded, or at the very least reined in, and ICE officer, Jonathan Ross, needs to be fired and charged TODAY. I refuse to keep paying federal income taxes if my money is going to be used to terrorize immigrants, violate the constitution, and murder unarmed protestors. Congress needs to act—NOW! Enough is enough. Thank you.
And don’t be afraid to be emotional. They need to hear it.

Thanks for being here, everyone. I want to clear up a few points from today’s piece. Since publishing the article, more details have surfaced about Renee Nicole Good’s personal life, and honestly, I’m not sure who to trust. Legacy media seems too afraid to confront the “nod-father,” and unfortunately, we can’t rely on them for facts anymore. What I can confirm is that Renee Nicole has a wife, something I wish I’d known when I wrote today's article. I’m still uncertain whether she had one or three children, but either way, those kids will face lifelong heartbreak, and her wife will be left to raise them under the shadow of losing a loved one to violence by the American Government. If you haven’t read Renee’s wife’s statement, I highly recommend it - it’s filled with love, unlike the masked agents who took her life.
Hey, hey! Ho, ho! F***ing ICE has got to go!
